Issues of spying allegation
revolved around China’s largest telecommunication equipment maker----Huawei, is
not a concern matter to Malaysia government.
The Malaysia government will
start a nationwide demonstration of 5G projects next month and are more
concerning on the relative affordability of Huawei products.
Gobind Sigh Deo, the Minister of communication
and multimedia said that:
“It is hoped that Malaysia’s early commitment to 5G, to rapidly
deploying 5G test beds and nationwide demonstration projects, will position the
country as one of the leaders of 5G adoption in the world,” , which
indicating Malaysia will be one of the first Asian countries to launch such
technology.
Huawei already has preliminary 5G
agreements with telco companies of Malaysia such as Celcom, Telekom Malaysia
and Maxis.
And, in line with the above announcement,
one local
tech media reported that Huawei is alreading showing off its 5G download experience
at famous Shopping mall in Kuala Lumpur---Pavillion .
Gobind also said his ministry is currently
looking at improving the availability and access of the digital infrastructure
which is the basis for the National Fiberisation and Connectivity Plan (NFCP).
Besides these, the Mistry of Malaysian
Communications and Multimedia Commission will be also conducting a study on the
National Digital ID Initiative. The study is to identify suitable framework
before the initative of National Digital ID can be implemented to protect users’
private data online.
