New malware detection and alert system launched by national cyber-security agency today

What we afraid today when using internet are the treats of cyber-securities that may harm us physically or non-physically.

That’s why having a sound-good cyber-security system  in placed  is necessary.

CyberSecurity Malaysia, the national cyber-security agency today announced that Coordinated Malware Eradication and Remediation Platform (CMERP) will be piloted at Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka research centre before rolled out commercially.

CMERP is a new malware detection and alert system that have smart security features that automatically detect malware and warn of cyber threats as well as to mitigate them.

This is expected to raise the standard of cyber-security and enhance data safety in the country.

Malaysia 5G plan potentially benefit China’s Huawei

Issues of spying allegation revolved around China’s largest telecommunication equipment maker----Huawei, is not a concern matter to Malaysia government.

The Malaysia government will start a nationwide demonstration of 5G projects next month and are more concerning on the relative affordability of Huawei products.

Gobind Sigh Deo, the Minister of communication and multimedia said that:

“It is hoped that Malaysia’s early commitment to 5G, to rapidly deploying 5G test beds and nationwide demonstration projects, will position the country as one of the leaders of 5G adoption in the world,” , which indicating Malaysia will be one of the first Asian countries to launch such technology.

Huawei already has preliminary 5G agreements with telco companies of Malaysia such as Celcom, Telekom Malaysia and Maxis. 

And, in line with the above announcement, one local tech media reported that Huawei is alreading showing off its 5G download experience at famous Shopping mall in Kuala Lumpur---Pavillion .

 Gobind also said his ministry is currently looking at improving the availability and access of the digital infrastructure which is the basis for the National Fiberisation and Connectivity Plan (NFCP).

Besides these, the Mistry of Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission will be also conducting a study on the National Digital ID Initiative. The study is to identify suitable framework before the initative of National Digital ID can be implemented to protect users’ private data online.

Malaysia government is preparing for smart city

Malaysia government had launched the Malaysia Smart City Framework, a guidelines for local governments all across the country to develop cities into smart cities.

A smart city is a city that incorporated with IoTs (Internet of Things) that enhance the quality and performance of urban services.

Speaking at a press conference, the Minister of Housing and Local Government Ministry, Zuraida Kamaruddin said five pilot cities will be upgraded into smart cities, and they are Kulim, Kuala Lumper, Johor Baru, Kota Kinabalu and Kuching.

Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir said in a video recording in the opening ceremony of Cities 4.0 Conference and Exhibition 2019, that:
“We envision smart cities that are integrated with sustainable technologies in the cities’ services such as 5G connectivity, cashless community, autonomous public transport, drone delivery, energy-efficient buildings, smart treatment of water and waste management and others, that can improve the public safety and the quality of life of our citizens,“

He also highlighted that this projects of turning Malaysia into smart cities would be one of the emphasis part in the upcoming 12th Malaysian Plan.

Bilingual technology news websites in Malaysia

Of course, there are countless of good tech news websites out there you can look into, and Malaysia is of no exceptional.

As we all might know, Malaysian are basically bilingual and some can even speak more than two languages.


I enjoy reading technology news and every day I try to read it from different sources being either from a pure tech news websites or integrated news portals. 


Majority of the tech websites in Malaysia which I come across with, are mostly written in one language and it is hard to find these kind news websites that comes with bi-language or more ……. 


Anyway, I’ll try my best to search and introduce some of these tech news websites with two languages for your readings (It maybe not be a complete list):

      
      1)      TechNave 

Founded in year 2013, TechNave is the fastest growing online tech media in Malaysia, covering and reviewing various gadgets and digital relevant products and services. It is written in English and Chinese. (Here is the link: https://technave.com)



      2)      Zing gadget

As the name suggest, Zing gadget covers mostly gadgets related information. It has English and Chinese versions. (Here are the links: https://en.zinggadget.com/ or https://zinggadget.com/)

   
3    3)      SoyaCincau

The name of this website is quite funny, because it is derived from a popular drink: soya mixed with grass jelly (cincau). The site covering the latest trends and reviews of tech related products and services. It is written in English and Malays.

Well, as you can see, I only manage to find three tech news websites that have two languages. I may have missed out some, but, along the process, if I ever discover any such websites; I will update you all in my post.


This is my first written post, although not much of contents, but I hope you guys enjoy it and yea…..do catch up with my next post and wish me a happy journey on writing!
